HELLP Syndrome

 

Epidemiology

HELLP syndrome, or hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, low platelets, is a consequence of gestational hypertension

 

HELLP affects up to 20% of women with severe pre-eclampsia, but can also occur after delivery with no signs of hypertension at time of delivery.
