Respiratory distress is mainfest by tachypnea: RR>60/min, tachycardia: >160/min
grunting, intercostal indrawing, nasal flaring
duskiness and central cyanosis
decreased air entry, crackles
Respiratory distress in the newborn can be caused by the following factors:
pulmonary
cardiac
infectious
hematologic
other
