Endocrine Signs and Symptoms

Endocrine diagnoses can be made by the CBA's:

clincial suspicion, biochemical confirmation, and anatomical localization

Goitre Formation

Goitres can form with both hypothyroidism and hyperhyroidism.

The thyroid-stimulating immunoglobulins that cause hyperthyroidism also induce proliferation in the thyroid gland, producing a goitre.

In hypothyroidism, increased TSH release causes an increase in colloid and hypertrophy of the gland.

galactorrhea

insulin resistance

dyslipidemia

overweight and obesity
