We use prediction models to assist with antenatal consultation for mortality prediction, guidance for continuing or withdrawal of care, or discharge planning.
Scoring factors include:
- grade of periventricular hemorrhage by cerebral ultrasound
- neonatal seizures
- exposure to parylizing agents
- hydrocephalus
- IUGR
- cycstic BPD
- severe IRDS
- male sex
- single parent family
- caffeine was protective
Some common disabilities
- CP
- cognitive delay (can be diagnosed with MDI)
- vision
- hearing
Later disabilities include:
- poorer school performance
- social isolation
