Introduction
Adherence to a professional and ethical code of conduct
- Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders in the health care setting
- Conduct themselves within the legal and regulatory guidelines of the Medical Laboratory profession
- Exhibit effective verbal and written communication, as well as the ability to read “nonverbal” communication
- Demonstrate good judgement in the area of patient care, which includes but is not limited to:
- Maintaining the patients right to confidentiality
- Maintaining patients right to procedural disclosure, as well as the right for a patient to refuse a procedure
- Ability to identify and implement patient follow up care when necessary
- Ability to identify and understand patient stress
- Ability to interact with a variety of patients
