The Case of Benjamin Nakalinzi

last authored: March 2010, David LaPierre

Benjamin Nakalinzi is a 6 month-old living in rural Uganda. He was healthy until he developed diarrhea, 12 times daily. He became more and more lethargic, and his mother became concerned enough to take him to the community health worker. There Benjamin received oral rehydration therapy, and his mother received education on sanitation and on vaccinations for the common infections Benjamin and his siblings face.
